Step by step

  1. Get a carer's assessment

    As a parent carer, ask the council for an assessment of your needs; it can lead to support for breaks and your wellbeing.

  2. Contact Northamptonshire Carers

    Self-refer to the Carers Support Line for information, groups, emergency planning and advice.

  3. NHS Talking Therapies

    Free self-referral for anxiety/low mood; evening groups and phone appointments available.

  4. If things feel unsafe

    Call the council out-of-hours team via 0300 126 7000 (EDT) or 999 if at immediate risk.
